Mumineen must make travel arrangements only after receiving Raza for Ashara Mubaraka 1447H at Colombo Relay Centre.

Please note: The following information is accurate as of today and may be subject to change. 

Sri Lanka ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization)​

  • سككلا بيجا ككام سي اْؤنار مؤمنين نا نزديك  كولمبو  travel كرتي وقت ETA  موجود هوئي.
  • سككلا مؤمنين نسس Sri Lankan ETA واسطسس apply كروو ضروري ؛ كولمبو ما داخل تهاوا ثثهلسس.

All foreign nationals travelling to Sri Lanka require an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) before arrival.

All mumineen must apply for a Sri Lankan ETA (Visa) and obtain approval before arriving in Colombo.

ETA Application Process

Free 30-Day ETA Eligibility

Citizens of the following countries are eligible for a free 30-day ETA: India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, China, Russia

  • Important: Although the ETA is free, travelers must still apply online via the official Sri Lanka ETA website: www.eta.gov.lk
  • There are no additional charges if applying through the official website.
  • Note:  If you apply through third-party services or travel agents, a service charge may apply.

Special Note for Select Nationalities

Citizens of Bangladesh, Yemen, Pakistan and Tanzania are kindly advised to obtain their Sri Lanka ETA well in advance. Please ensure you apply at least 7-15 business days prior to travel to allow sufficient processing time.

Visit the official site, select your preferred language and go to the 'Apply' Tab.

Fill the Sri Lanka Tourist ETA Online Form

For Purpose of Travel, select ‘Pilgrimage’

If accommodation is not confirmed use the address:
41/1, Glen Aber Place, Colombo 04 

Make sure to fill in your tentative/confirmed Flight Details along with your Port of Departure

Review your Application

Important: Provide an active, regularly monitored email address, as any required documents will be requested via email.

* Incorrect or mismatched details (e.g. spelling errors or information not tallying with the passport) will result in rejection

Pay the ETA fee online

Submit the Application

You will be issued a reference number.
* Do not disclose it to untrusted parties.

Important Notes

  • Visa Fees
    • Standard ETA Fee: USD 50–60 per passport
    • SAARC Countries (e.g. Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal etc): USD 20–30 per passport
  • Apply for ETA at least 7-15 working days before travel. Please view Special Note for Select Nationalities  section above for more details
  • Accuracy matters: Incorrect or mismatched details (e.g. spelling errors or information not tallying with the passport) will result in rejection, and you will need to reapply and repay the fee
  • Provide an active, regularly monitored email address, as any required documents will be requested via email.
  • Children under 12: ETA is still required, but no ETA fee applies for any nationality
