Which airport should I arrive at?

Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), about an hour’s drive from Colombo.

Will there be transport assistance at the airport?

Yes, airport transfers can be booked upon arrival. Khidmat Guzaar will guide you to selected vendors offering specially negotiated rates. Please note that all airport transfers are self-paid. Visit the Airport Assistance page for more information.

I missed Arrival Scanning at the airport. What should I do?

You can self-scan or visit the Mumineen Help Desks at either Waaz Centre.

I didn’t receive a Free SIM Card. Where can I get one?

Free SIM cards are available at both Waaz Centres.

How do I reload/recharge my connection?

To recharge your Mobitel SIM: Use top-up cards, electronic reloads, or online/app options. You can also SMS the PIN from a top-up card to 141.

Where can I exchange foreign currency for Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR)?

Currency exchange counters will be available at both Waaz Centres.

Exchange facilities are also available at the Sri Lankan airport upon arrival. Mumineen are advised to exchange some cash there to cover airport transfers and immediate expenses.

What’s the weather like in Colombo?

Colombo is currently in the monsoon season, with temperatures ranging from 25–31°C. While many days may be warm and sunny, be prepared for periods of heavy rainfall.

I lost my ITS card. What should I do?

There is no ITS card replacement facility in Colombo. Please provide your ITS number and contact details at the Mumineen Help Desk. They will forward the request to the ITS team.

Can I use international credit/debit cards in Colombo?

Yes. However, we recommend carrying some Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) for local expenses. Please note that foreign transaction fees/additional charges may apply when using international cards.

Do I need a visa to enter Sri Lanka?

Yes. All international visitors require a Tourist Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). Visit the Visa Information page to check your country’s eligibility and for step-by-step application guidance.

What is the process for obtaining a Sri Lanka Visa/ETA?

Will first-aid or medical help be available on-site?

Yes. Both Waaz Centres will have Mahal-us-Shifa kiosks offering medical assistance and first-aid services.

Will transport be provided between the two Waaz Centres?

Transport will not be provided between the Waaz Centres. For guidance on getting around Colombo, refer to the Transport tab.

What facilities will be available at Waaz Centres?

Both Waaz Centres will have: Mawaid, Help Desk, Mahal-us-Shifa, SIM Card Kiosks, Laundry, Niyaz Office, Currency Exchange and more. See Facilities for the full list.

Will Waaz Istibsar Sessions take place at both Waaz Centres?

Yes. The timings and locations of Istibsar sessions within Waaz Centres will be shared daily in the ‘Your Day Today’ newsletter, which you can access via the ITS App.
