Precautionary Measures & Travel Guidelines

Engaging with Visa Agencies: It’s vital to choose trusted visa agencies and ensure accurate passport details are entered during application to avoid having to reapply due to errors.

Identification and Documentation: Always carry your original passport with a valid visa to prevent detainment by security forces. If a visa was issued on an old passport but your travel is with a new passport, be sure to address this before departure.

Disembarkation Form: Complete the form online or onboard to streamline airport procedures and minimize delays: https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/emb/eEmbarkation/’#/home-page

Cooperation with Security: Cooperate with security checks, including personal and luggage searches upon request.

Restricted Items: Prohibited items include walkie-talkies, satellite phones, items resembling military or police uniforms, sharp objects, and explosives. For details, refer to Airport Departure Info.

Health Precautions: Yellow Fever certificates are mandatory for travelers from East Africa. Ensure all vaccinations are up-to-date.

Cultural Sensitivity: Visitors must honor Sri Lanka’s local culture. As a majority Buddhist country, images of the Buddha are sacred. Possessing such images on clothing, skin, or accessories is a punishable offence.

Interactions with Media: Direct all media inquiries to the designated Public Relations Office; avoid making public statements.

Behavior and Conduct: Respect local laws, dress codes at religious sites, and cultural norms in public.

Safety and Security: Stay vigilant about personal safety, avoid public demonstrations, and stay informed about local conditions, including road travel risks.

Please keep in mind that your conduct reflects the Dawoodi Bohra community and our shared values and the leadership of Aqa Maula (TUS). Thank you for upholding these guidelines.
